Steve and Terri Arena of Arena Business Technology originally came to Words and Pictures seeking renovation for their logo and business cards.
Arena Business Technology provides information technology solutions to Australian business, government, not for profit organisations and education. They offer systems consultation, software and hardware.
Arena have been regular clients since December 2008.
Logo Arena’s logo device was designed by a graphic arts student. It has even lines, regular curves and dynamic angles. We thought it would benefit from only a little tidying as it was beautiful and appropriate to their industry.
The serif font was replaced with Gill Sans, a classic sans serif font. It is bold enough to be solid and simple enough to let the curves of the device shine to maximum effect.
Navy was replaced by cyan combined with black to create a more vibrant colour scheme.
Business Cards Arena had always used blues and did not want to drastically change. As it can be advantageous to promote longevity and stability in the IT industry, blues can work very well.
They explained that Steve lends the business technical expertise and industry experience and they had previously expressed this in their sensible business card design. On the other hand, Arena pride themselves on providing the very best customer service including after sales support. Terri contributes the friendly interaction that keeps clients returning.
For this reason, we created a clean, modern layout for their business cards but incorporated curves to mirror their logo and represent flexibility, especially in relation to service.
Terri’s colour scheme is vibrant and friendly like her personality. Its prominence reflects her role in the business as the first point of contact.
Steve’s colour scheme is predominantly navy. Navy is traditional, sensible and suggests longevity or history. He is quietly spoken and thoughtful in word and action. Navy represents his personality and can be a valuable theme when Steve is consulting to businesses, education and government.
Its important to feel comfortable with your business cards as they are usually hand delivered to someone with whom you would like to further communicate. The recipient looks from your face to the card and it ought to feel congruent. You should definitely look proud and not apologetic!
We have designed other documents for Arena Business Technology. These have followed the ‘Arena Flavour’ we worked out for the logo and business cards. We then followed needs of the readership to come up with appropriate design.
What I Love About Arena Business Technology Their Customer Service Arena pride themselves on having the experience, expertise and desire to help with after sales queries and support. They understand not all customers want to speak in technology jargon and three letter acronyms. They are patient.
Their Range Arena’s online shop offers over 20 000 products! This would overwhelm me. But only briefly, because Steve and Terri are at the other the end of the phone poised to help me choose an appropriate solution.
